| Low cost piezo electric Accelerometer with built in amplifier RD279
The RD279 is a low cost piezo electric accelerometer manufactured using Lamerholm Electronics advanced sensor technology already proven in many successful automotive and industrial applications. The sensor element and the associated signal processing electronics are encapsulated in an aluminium housing to provide good environmental resistance and electrical screening. Connections to the accelerometer are made via integral screened cable.
The case is insulated from the signal ground but connected to the cable screen to allow for maximum flexibility in earting arrangements.

Connections
The RD279 is designed for operation from a single 5V supply and its output is normally biased at one half of that supply. The internal bias voltage is available on the Bias connection and may be forced to a different voltage if required. This allows the RD279 to be used with dual supplies.
